Virtual Trip: Comedy Central!

Places: [click links for more info.]
The Board Room: This is where groups of people meet to discuss ideas and products. We really liked the chairs in the conference room. They were very comfortable.

Design Cubicles: The designers at Comedy Central have their own DESIGN CUBICLES. This is where they do most of their work with VISUAL EFFECTS. Usually there are one or two computers in each cubicle along with personal items and toys, like action figures or South Park characters.

We liked the design cubicles. They aren't completely open, so you can't hear yourself think, but they aren't completely closed so you feel like you're working all alone. We thought that this might be a nice way to work.

The Camera Studio: The studio is the place where designers shoot VIDEO FOOTAGE of different things. It can be people or objects or even pieces of paper that are later digitized and animated on the computer. They shoot in front of a GREEN SCREEN, so they can later erase this green background and use the object with anything.

The Editing Room: In the editing room, designers and AVID editors make the video segments just right for TV. They make sure that the segment is exactly the right length of time (for example 10 seconds for an ID or 30 seconds for a PROMO) and that sound, music and video are properly linked.

The Snack Room: In the snack room, we saw a soda machine (free soda!!), a gumball machine, a fridge and microwave. People sometimes work very late at Comedy Central so they probably need free soda to stay awake.
