  National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI)
   

If you or someone you love has a mental illness, this site can help. Click on the "Education" link and then the "Family-to-Family Education Program" link to connect with other families who are dealing with depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, etc. Also, get specific information on illnesses and their treatments. Information is available in Spanish at NAMI en español.

      Mental Health Association of NYC
        This website provides information about depression, schizophrenia, and other problems. It can help you see the signs if you or someone you love is having emotional troubles and link you to treatment resources. You can also call the HelpLine at 1-800-LIFENET. The phone call and services are free.
         
      Anxiety Disorders Association
        This site will give you helpful information about disorders relating to stress and anxiety. You can also get help in dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (e.g. how to cope with death, divorce, and other traumatic events).

        The National Women's Heath Information Center on-line has a great deal of information about violence against women It has a rape fact sheet as well as sexual assault prevention and links to various organizations that offer assistance (in Spanish and English)!
