At
first, this site seemed too overwhelming because there were so many
choices and links… but as I browsed it, I saw that it was a great
site for families! It has sections on “Special Needs,” “Activities,”
and “Family Finance.” It also includes information on family difficulties-the
challenges of teens, divorce, and troubled kids. This is a good
one. Check it out.

This
site has a great section for teens called “The Teen Crisis Center.”
Which contains help for situations like “Abuse,” “Depression,” “Rape
and Sexual Abuse” and “Pregnancy and STDs.” It has something for
every member of the family except maybe young kids. It has information
on marriage and grandparents among other things.

This
site includes “expert answers” to lots of questions about family relationships.
You can pick a topic or an age group (like baby or pre-teens) for
this information. It also contains a couple of good topics that we
didn’t find on other web sites, things like “Gay and Lesbian Kids”
and “Gay and Lesbian Parenting.” Both are listed under the "TeenAgers"
link. |

in case you ever need them, this site provides telephone numbers for
crisis hotlines, like the Runaway Hotline
and the National Drug Abuse Hotline.
It also has links to some local resources for troubled kids and families. |

This
is an interesting site. It contains ideas about activities that children
and families can do together. It also has a really useful “Parent
ProblemSolver.” You can pick a topic-like sleep (maybe a child is
afraid to go to bed or wets the bed) and the child’s age, and it will
give you some articles about this topic. The site also has a “Symptom
Solver.” In this section, you select a symptom (like a rash or headaches),
and the site will give you ideas about possible causes of these ailments. |

This
site seems more for “new” parents, meaning soon to be fathers and
mothers. It is mostly about babies and how to take care and nourish
them. Some things that caught my eye were: “The First Nine Months,”
“Pregnancy Calendar,” and “Baby Name Finder.” |
