Idealist
|
| |
|
This
site provides information on very interesting jobs and internships
in the non-profit world. You can search for jobs by category,
including things like counseling, graphic design and event planning.
The site also has lots of good public service opportunities
for high school students; these can often lead to great jobs.

Monster.com
|
| |
|
This
is a fantastic site where you can learn to make a resume, post
it, and check for jobs, which are listed. It's for the whole
country, though, and sometimes you might not be able to find
anything in NYC. |

for Workers |
| |
|
This
site features jobs in the U.S. government, jobs that are all
over the country and sometimes even in other countries. The
site will connect you with resume and cover sheet examples and
to other job boards. In the section called “Try Out a Career,”
it also links to a number of internships and programs for young
people.

Hot
Jobs |
| |
|
This
site is fairly useful because you can search for jobs (for entry
level positions as well as jobs that require a college education)
in your area. Be sure to type in the city, because this site
works all over the country. We looked up entry-level jobs in
sales, technology, health care, and construction, and the site
found a bunch of opportunities.

The
Red Guide to Temp Agencies in NYC |
| |
|
This
site lets you know which temp agencies are good and which are
not so good. It rates agencies by asking people who’ve worked
there to fill out a review form. Some of the rating criteria
are: wages, benefits, how long it took to get a job, and how
long the job lasted. Go to the Review Database to look at this
information.
