Hello there. My name is Shelley-Ann West. Most people just call me "Shelley".

I am currently one of the three senior interns working at CFY. I was born in San Fernando, Trinidad after several attempts on my part to enter the world earlier than scheduled. Trinidad is part of a twin island state (Trinidad and Tobago) that is located off the North East coast of Venezuela. I have one sister, Jo-Ann who has a Masters degree in Biochemistry and works as a project editor in Manhattan. My mother, Patricia is a registered nurse in Miami and is currently working on her Masters degree in Nursing. She's in the RN to BSN/MSN program at Barry University. She's been a nurse for almost 40 years. My father, Clarendon is an operations manager at a brokered radio station in Miami and also works part-time on-air doing a Caribbean music radio program and writing for a local magazine. I also have a large extended family back in Trinidad since my father is the oldest of ten children.

I attended Naparima Girls' High School. I migrated to the United States at seventeen to attend college. I attended Barry University where I received my degree in Management Information Systems. Management Information Systems is the application of computer technology to business problems. So I can act as problem solver in businesses and help management solve business problems using information technology. I recently received my master's degree from New York University in Interactive Telecommunication…aka ITP

I have a website - http://www.shelley-ann.com/ that I've been working on off and on since 2000. It has links to my artwork as well as my work at graduate school. I'm interested in creating interactive art, designing software and doing exhibit design for children and young adults. Hopefully my internship at CFY will offer me the opportunity to do some of these things.
